Bhubaneswar: After Salipur MLA Prakash Behera quit the Congress, party vice president Arya Kumar Jnanendra today said that it will have no impact on the party.
“MLA Prakash Behera quitting Congress will have no impact. The leaders who are leaving Congress will have a fate like Anup Kumar Sai,” said Jnanendra.
Notably, Behera resigned from the primary membership of Congress accusing the State party leadership of humiliating him ‘time and again’.
He is likely to join BJP. Name Behera of quitting the Congress was doing the rounds for quite some time. Earlier, speculations were rife that the MLA might join the ruling BJD as he had praised BJD’s performance publicly.
However, the Behera changed his decision after BJD veteran and Minister Pratap Jena recently in a BJD workers’ meeting in Salipur area cleared the air by stating that Prashant Behera would be party’s candidate from Salipur Assembly constituency.
