Bhubaneswar: A security guard of a marble company was found dead today near Pahala on the city outskirts.
The deceased was identified as Gada Swain, a resident of Usuma village under Cuttack Sadar police station.
Sources said some unidentified miscreants dragged the on-duty guard into the mess of the Sarala Marbles’ and killed him by slitting his throat with sharp weapons late Wednesday night.
While the cause behind the murder is yet to be ascertained, the family members alleged that the marble factory owner was involved in the alleged murder.
Meanwhile, angry over the incident, the villagers of the deceased watchman staged the Cutta-Bhubaneswar NH near Pahala demanding arrest of the accused and compensation for the family members of the deceased.
Notably, on March 16, two unidentified miscreants had opened fire at one Gyanendra Mallick, a security guard of a Kalyan Mandap at Tankapani Road here, leaving him critically injured and flee the spot.
