Bhubaneswar, Jan 29: “I have not submitted any false affidavit while filing nomination papers to contest assembly elections neither in 2014 nor in 2019,” said BJD MLA and State Commerce and Transport Minister Padmanabha Behera on Wednesday. All the information mentioned in the affidavit filed before election commission is true, including my educational qualification, the minister reiterated.    Opposition parties have cornered the Biramaharajpur MLA after Orissa High Court directed the Inspector-in-Charge of Biramaharajpur police station to act upon a written report against the BJD leader alleging filing of false affidavit. The court issued the direction while disposing of a petition filed by Bhagaban Bagha of Biramaharajpur on January 9, who had sought intervention of the court against inaction on the complaint lodged at the local police station. Congress leader Santosh Singh Saluja has demanded minister’s resignation on moral grounds while the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) sought intervention of Election Commission.
