Medical negligence towards a HIV positive woman alleged

Baripada, 14/12: Negligence to a HIV affected woman in treatment by doctor has been alleged in Pandit Raghunath Murmu Medical College and Hospital here. According to information, a HIV affected woman of Jamda area was admitted in the Rairangpur sub divisional hospital on December 12 night with the help of an Accredited Social Health Activist, as she was having labour pain. However, she was shifted to Pandit Raghunath Murmu Medical College and Hospital as her health condition deteriorated. Though she had been admitted at 12 midnight and she was having labour pain althrough the night, she was allegedly not given proper treatment. {"id":21961,"sizeSlug":"large"} Next day morning, the doctor declared the foetus inside her womb dead. However, no step was taken to bring out the stillborn baby from her womb. She was operated and the dead foetus was brought out today morning after the media reached the hospital. A few voluntary organisations have alleged that the treatment of the pregnant woman has been delayed as she was HIV positive. {"id":21962,"sizeSlug":"large"} Instead of giving proper treatment to the woman at this government-run hospital, the doctors neglected her, rued the NGOs.
