Man misbehaves with woman co-passenger in moving auto, thrashed by locals in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar, Sep 17: A 47-year-old was trashed by a woman and local residents for allegedly misbehaving with her inside a moving auto-rickshaw in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday.

The accused has been identified as Mukhtar Khan, a resident of Balipatna area.

According to reports, the 32-year-old woman was travelling in an auto-rickshaw when Khan sitting next to her started misbehaving with her.

The woman asked him to maintain distance, but he did not follow her.

However, the woman asked the driver of the auto to drop her at Rajmahal.

Later, when the victim was returning to her home from Rajmahal, the accused, who was following her got into the same three-wheeler and began misbehaving with her again.

The woman asked the driver to stop the auto and raised an alarm following which local people caught hold of the man, tied him to a pole. They also beat him up.

On being informed the Airfield police reached the spot and took him to the police station for questioning.
