Kolkata, April 8: Mamata Banerjee-led government in West Bengal has decided to allow home delivery of liquor during the lockdown period in the state, reported India Today.
As per the reports, the Excise Directorate of Bengal govt, there is no prohibition on sale of liquor during the lockdown.
However, most liquor shops have remained closed due to the lockdown and will continue to remain shut.
Backend supply can be resumed via home delivery, the report added.
The report further said, the police will soon issue delivery passes to retailers through local police stations.
Customers will be allowed to place orders over phone at their nearest liquor shops between 11am and 2pm and the liquor will be delivered between 2pm and 5pm on that day.
