Low pressure to turn into depression in next 12 hours, move towards Odisha coast in next 48 hrs

Bhubaneswar:  The well marked low pressure area over southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining north Andaman Sea is very likely to concentrate into a depression during next 12 hours and move north-westwards towards Odisha coast during next 48 hours, warned the India Meteorological Department here on Monday.

“The well marked low pressure area over southeast Bay of Bengal & adjoining north Andaman Sea lay over southeast and adjoining east-central Bay of Bengal at 0530 hrs IST of today. It is very likely to concentrate into a #Depression during next 12 hours and very likely to move north-westwards towards Odisha coast during next 48 hours,” said the latest IMD bulletin.

Under its pressure squally wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph is very likely over north Andaman Sea, southeast and adjoining east-central Bay of Bengal and Andaman Islands during next 24 hours.

Squally wind speed reaching 45-55 kmph gusting to 65 kmph is alos likely over deep sea areas of central and adjoining north Bay of Bengal from October 8 to 10, it predicted.

The sea condition is very likely to be rough to very rough over north Andaman Sea and southeast and adjoining east-central Bay of Bengal during next 24 hours; and over central and adjoining north Bay of Bengal during October 8 to 10, it predicted.

The fishermen have been advised not to venture into deep sea areas of north Andaman Sea and southeast and adjoining east-central Bay of Bengal during next 24 hours and over central and adjoining north Bay of Bengal during till October 10.

Fishermen who are in deep sea areas have been advised to return to the coast by Monday night.
