Low pressure to trigger heavy rainfall in Odisha; SRC asks Collectors to remain alert

Bhubaneswar, Aug 14: The Special Relief Commissioner and Additional Chief Secretary has asked all Collectors to closely monitor situation as heavy rainfall has been predicted due a low pressure area over north coastal Odisha and neighbourhood.

The Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar has forecast and issued warning for next three days

August 14

Orange Warning: Heavy to very heavy rainfall at a few places with isolated extremely heavy rainfall in Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Sambalpur, Angul and Deogarh districts

Yellow Warning: Heavy to very heavy rainfall in Kendrapada,Cuttack, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Dhenkanal, Boudh, Sonepur, Bargarh, Balangir, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Ganjam, Khurda, Nayagarh, Malkangiri and Sundargarh districts.

August 15

Orange Warning: Heavy to very heavy rainfall in Bargarh, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Balangir, Deogarh, Angul, Boudh, Nuapada and Sonepur districts.

Yellow Warning: Heavy to very heavy rainfall in Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Nawarangpur, Kalahandi And Dhenkanal districts.

August 16

Yellow Warning: Heavy rainfall in Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Keonjhar, Bargarh, Nuapada, Nawarangpur, Boudh and Balangir districts.
