Low pressure over Bay of Bengal: Heavy rainfall warning for 4 days in Odisha

Bhubaneswar, Aug 13: The Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar has forecast heavy rainfall for several districts of Odisha for the next four days.

The met department said that a low-pressure area has formed over northwest Bay of Bengal off north Odisha-West Bengal coast which will enhance the rainfall activity over Odisha.

The forecasting agency has issued orange warning for Koraput and Malkangiri districts and yellow warning for Ganjam, Puri, Gajapati, Jagatsinghpur, Rayagada, Nawarangpur, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Sambalpur, and Deogarh districts today.

Here’s day-wise weather forecast for next for next three days:

August 14: Heavy to very heavy rainfall very likely to occur at isolated places over the districts of Malkangiri, Puri, Jagatsingpur, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Anugul, and Bolangir.

Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at isolated places over the districts of Ganjam, Koraput, Kendrapada, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Sonepur, Dhenkanal, Boudh, Kandhamal, Kalahandi and Bargarh.

August 15: Heavy to very heavy rainfall very likely to occur at isolated places over the districts of Nuapada, Bargarh, Kalahandi, Sambalpur, Nabarangpur, Deogarh, Bolangir, Sonepur and Angul.

Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at isolated places over the districts of Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Keonjhar, Jharsuguda, Kandhamal, and Boudh.

August 16: Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at isolated places over the districts of Koraput, Nabarangpur, Nuapada, Bargarh, and Sundargarh.

People in these districts are advised to stay indoors and take shelter in buildings and other safe locations as a precautionary measure.
