Litterateur Manoj Das to get Padma Bhushan, nine others from Odisha to receive Padma Shri

Bhubaneswar, Jan 25: Eminent litterateur from Odisha, Manoj Das has been conferred Padma Bhushan, the country’s third-highest civilian award. Besides, eight others from Odisha, including a father-daughter duo, will receive the prestigious Padma Shri award on the 71st Republic Day celebrations. The government on Saturday announced the names of this year’s recipients of the Padma awards. The list had 141 awards – seven Padma Vibhushan, 16 Padma Bhushan and 118 Padma Shri. Thirty-four of the recipients were women. Here is the list of Padma Shri awardees from Odisha Dr Damayanti Beshra – Literature and Education; Utsav Charan Das – Art; Mitrabhanu Gountia – Art; Manmohan Mahapatra – (posthumous) Art; Binapani Mohanty – Literature and Education; Radha Mohan and Sabarmatee – Agriculture; Batakrushna Sahoo – Animal Husbandry; Dr Digambar Behera – Medicine; Dr. Prasanta Kumar Pattanaik – Literature and Education
