Bhubaneswar: Mahashtami Puja of Maa Durga during the ongoing Dussehra festival was conducted amid a devotional ambience at Puja Mandaps across the State, including twin cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar.
There are about 171 puja pandals in the capital city of Bhubaneswar and over 200 puja pandals in the millennium city of Cuttack where Maa Durga is being worshipped. Mahashami Puja was conducted amid chanting of Mantras and offerings of oblation at yajnas.
Devotees in big numbers have kept thronging Puja Mandaps to witness Mahashtami Puja. Devotees also offered bhog to appease Maa Jagatjanani for betterment of their families.
Beautiful tableaus of historic monuments erected at major Puja Mandaps have attracted visitors the most. As usual, visitors are seen taking selfies and group photos with tableaus on the background at every Puja Mandaps.
Proper arrangements for free flow of traffic have been made near all Puja Mandaps. Patrolling systems have been expedited in the twin cities for safety and security of Puja revellers.
