Bhubaneswar, May 23: The State government today allowed home delivery of liquor in the state which will begin from Sunday. The liquor shops in the state remained closed since March 23 for lockdown.
Excise officials said that one person can place order for maximum 2.5 litres of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) and 5 litres of beer simultaneously.
Odisha government today also allowed food aggregators Swiggy and Zomato to operationalize home delivery of liquor. The Excise Commissioner has been authorised to decide on the rates for delivery charges from time to time. The ceiling notified by him at present is Rs 100 for orders upto Rs 1000 and thereafter Rs 25 for every additional Rs 500 order value.
