Kochi, Apr 7: In a strange case, the Kerala High Court granted permission to a cat owner to travel from Kochi during coronavirus lockdown to purchase biscuits for his pets.
Passing the order, the Kerala High Court bench said it hoped the ruling will avert “CATastrophe” in the petitioner’s home.
The story began with a man approaching the authorities in Kochi for a vehicle pass. He wanted to travel to Kochi Pet Hospital for buying Meo Persian biscuits, the food for his cats.
His online request for a vehicle pass was not granted. The man, named N Prakash moved the Kerala High Court petitioning that he needed to buy food for his cats invoking their right to life.
In his petition, Prakash said he is vegetarian and non-vegetarian food is not cooked in his home. So, he cannot feed his cats if he is not allowed to travel and purchase Meo Persian.
