Kamat Hotel India Ltd., Asia’s pioneering hospitality chain of environmentally sensitive 5 star hotels and resorts successfully running its brands in different cities of the country, has made another endeavor towards the Go Green initiative by featuring Ganpatree boxes, this Ganesh Chaturthi. These Ganpatree boxes are available in the lobby of VITS Hotel Bhubaneswar, Lotus Eco Beach Resort – Konark, Mahodadhi Palace Puri etc.
Ganpatree is comprised of pure clay Ganesh idol (with no chemicals and color), one recyclable plastic pot, coco peat, fertilizer and seeds. The seeds are mixed with mud to make the idol and they are also inserted into the mud pot. Organic fertilizer does not allow the seeds to dry up hence on submersion day instead of submerging Just Water It. That is rather than immersing the idol in a water body, all that is required is to water the idol everyday so that the idol start melting in the mud pot and the seed germination process begins immediately.
Traditionally, during Ganesh Chaturthi, Ganesh idols made up of clay and mud are worshipped. It adds spiritual and devotional value to the pooja and offerings. So while the deity is being worshipped with full fervor and devotion, we are also making a sincere effort to save the environment by not only avoiding idols made from non-recyclable material and harmful chemical colors, but planting trees as well. Kamat Hotel India Ltd. is always undertaking socially responsible endeavors to work towards an environmental friendly future. Ganpatree is yet another great effort by the group.
