Bhubaneswar: As part of the commitment to farmers, the BJD Government in its first Cabinet meeting on Wednesday increased the target of KALIA beneficiaries to 75 lakh farmer families. This is 33 lakh more than the existing 42 lakh families.
“Fund release starts from today with immediate effect and about 25 lakh additional families will be assisted in a week’s time,” said Patnaik.
A proposal was approved to provide Rs 1,000 crore worth of government business to Women SHGs.
Patnaik was sworn in as the CM of Odisha for the fifth consecutive term. Patnaik has been the CM of Odisha since 2000.
Along with Patnaik, 11 Cabinet Ministers and nine MoS were sworn-in by the Governor at Exhibition Ground here.
Patnaik’s BJD registered victory in 112 Assembly seats. The State has altogether 147 Assembly seats. Polls to the Patkura constituency in Kendrapara district were countermanded after the death of BJD candidate.
