Bhubaneswar, July 26: Odisha government today suspended Kalahandi Deputy Collector, Anisha Das for dereliction in duty.
In an order, the Revenue and Disaster Management department said a disciplinary proceeding against Das was contemplated for negligence in discharging the government duties, lack of absolute integrity and dereliction in duty.
Das, an OAS officer was earlier transferred to Kalahandi few days ago for her alleged nexus with minor mineral mafia during her tenure as tehsildar of Betnoti in Mayurbhanj district.
The OAS officer allegedly helped a minor mineral mafia by asking the police to release a morum laden truck without imposing penalty. An audio clip of Das allegedly demanding Rs 1 lakh to release the morum truck has also gone viral on social media. Police have earlier arrested a man who acted as a middleman in the alleged deal between the OAS officer and the minor mineral mafia.
