Bhubaneswar: Congress is now struggling to keep its house in order. After social worker Muktikant Biswal, and former MLA Yudhistir Samantaray and Jagatsinghpur MP Bibhu Prasad Tarai, senior leader Sitakanta Mohapatra too refused to contest the ensuing Assembly polls after getting ticket.
Mohapatra was given party ticket from Badachana Assembly constituency. He said that he would not be able to reach out the people in a short period of time. Last week the name of Mohapatra was announced by the AICC for Badachana Assembly segment.
Earlier, social worker Muktikant Biswal and former MLA Yudhistir Samantaray, refused to contest elections from Rourkela and Pipili Assembly constituencies, respectively even after getting tickets.
Outgoing Jagatsinghpur MP Tarai, who got Congress ticket to contest from Tirtol, too resigned from the party and joined the BJP. He is now the BJP candidate for Jagatsinghpur Assembly segment.
