IRCTC to close food and refreshment service from March 22 to fight coronavirus

Bhubaneswar, Mar 20: The food plazas, refreshment rooms, jan ahaars and cell kitchens will be closed from March 22 until further advice to prevent spread of coronavirus, Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) said on Friday. The static units supplying meals to the pre-paid trains which are in operation may continue to operate to supply. Cell kitchen, Vijayawada will supply meals to 12269 Duronto Express on every Monday and Friday only and no operation of sales is allowed. The on board catering services in Mail Exp trains and TSV trains will be closed from March 22 until firther advice. In case of exigency, licensees will be called to render minimum service only such as PAD and hot beverages. The licensees will be requested to take care of their catering staff on humanitarian ground during this period of closure. For the purpose of license fee the period will be covered under force majeure.
