Mumbai, May 17: Winning the toss Mumbai Indians (MI) elected to field first against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the 67th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 at Wankhede Stadium, here on Friday.
MI are officially out of the play-offs race. Even LSG have very little chance. Even if they beat MI with a huge difference, still they are unlikely to finish among the top four teams this season. Hence, a play-off dream is unlikely to materialise this season.
MI, the first team to crash out of the top-four, are rooted at the bottom of the table while LSG are seventh with 12 points from 13 games.

Lucknow Super Giants XI: K L Rahul (Captain and wicket-keeper), Devdutt Paddikkal, Marcus Stoinis, Deepak Hooda, Nicholas Pooran, Ayush Badoni, Krunal Pandya, Arshad Khan, Ravi Bishnoi, Mohsin Khan and Matt Henry.
LSG Impact options: Naveen-u;-Haq, Ashton Turner, M Siddarth, Prerak Mankad and Krishnappa Gowtham.
Mumbai Indians Playing XI: Hardik Pandya (Captain), Naman Dhir, Dewald Brevis, Suryakumar Yadav, Nehal Wadhera, Ishan Kishan (wicket-keeper), Romario Shepherd, Anshul Kamboj, Piyush Chawla, Arjun Tendulkar and Nuwan Thushara.
MI Impact options: Rohit Sharma,Tim David, Akash Madhwal, Kumar Kartikeya and Shams Mulani.
The two teams have played five times in the IPL with LSG emerging victorious four times.
