Kolkata, April 16: There is nothing much to choose between the two sides. They have faced each other 28 times in the Indian Premier League since 2008, and have won almost 50% of the battles.
However, the fact remains Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have won the IPL title twice, while Rajasthan Royals (RR) in 16 previous editions, managed only one championship crown.
Rajasthan Royals' best performance was in 2008, when under legendary late Shane Warne, they emerged champions in the inaugural edition.
This season, RR have five wins from six matches and KKR have four victories from five games. Both are placed at the top two spots of the Points Table.
Since KKR would be playing at their home ground Eden Gardens in Kolkata against RR in the 31st match of the IPKL 2024 on Tuesday, so they would certainly fancy their chances.
On the other hand, RR may be leading the Table, but KKR in all probability, would compete hard at their fortress. Moreover, they would enjoy the jam packed Eden crowd support.
Besides, with Gautam Gambhiir back in the KKR dug out as a Mentor, the Kolkata franchise have appeared to be on a high this season.
On the contrary, despite five wins, RR at times this year, had some strange bowling changes which have been questioned by experts. But since they have won the maximum games so far, with a healthy net run rate, RR still appear to be more consistent in IPL 2024.
Considering their previous encounters since 2008, the two teams have played each other 28 times in the IPL.
