Bhubaneswar: The Indial Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) has announced to provide Rs 5 crore for repair of the Shreemandir at Puri, which has faced the wrath of Cyclone Fani recently.
According to reports, the iron support of the shrine, parts of the Meghanada Pacheri (boundary wall), idol of Jaya at the Lion’s Gate, Anand Bazaar and some valuable sculptures have been damaged due to Fani that hit the Odisha coast at Puri on May 3. These valuable structures, which are linked to the sentiments of Lord Jagannath devotees, need to be renovated forthwith.
In view of this, the IOCL has declared to give Rs 5 crore to the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration. The money will be spent for repair and beautification works of the Shreemandir, reports said.
