Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday termed Odisha as the “point of sunrise to the development of eastern India” and promised that the Talcher Fertilser Limited, for which he laid foundation stone today, would be completed within 36 months and he would unveil the project himself.
Informing that Rs 1,300 crore would be spent for the project, the Prime Minister said as many as 4,500 people would get employment opportunity. He said the project was delayed due to lack of willingness of the previous Union Government.
Modi stated this while addressing a public meeting at the Buxi Jagabandhu stadium at Talcher after laying foundation stone for the Talcher Fertiliser Limited. He began his speech in Odia offering pranam to Lord Jagannath and local presiding deity Maa Hingula.
He highlighted about various pro-people projects like Mudra, Ujjwala, Pradhan Mantri Krishi Bima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and Swachh Bharat projects.
He remembered freedom strugglers like Pabitra Mohan Pradhan, Baji Rout, Sarangadhar Das and many others of undivided Dhenkanal district and paid tributes to them.
Union Ministers Dharmendra Pradhan, Jual Oram, BJP State president Basant Panda, BJP Legislature Party Leader KV Singh Deo, party’s senior leaders like Pratap Sarangi and Manmohan Samal were present.
