Bhubaneswar, Feb 13: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bhubaneswar turned 12 on Wednesday.
The institute celebrated its 12th foundation day by organizing Open Day and Exhibition in the campus attracting students of various schools and colleges within and outside the state to showcase the science and technology initiatives undertaken by the faculties and students in various areas.
Andhra Pradesh Governor Biswa Bhusan Harichandan delivering the foundation day lecture on, ‘In search of Tomorrow’, called upon students to be technological leaders and social entrepreneurs and be the change agents to transform country to be one of the most developed countries of the world.
IIT Bhubaneswar Director Prof RV Raja Kumar said that the institute will keep contributing to the societal development and progress of the nation with dedicated student and faculty engagements from time to time.
Odisha Skill Development Authority and Chairman Subroto Bagchi said that the difference between all premier institutions like IITs is their intellectual infrastructure. To build memorability, educational institution must go well beyond the physical, intellectual, digital infrastructure and it needs to create what we call as emotional infrastructure.
More than 8000 students from various schools and colleges participated and students’ excellence and faculty awards were also distributed.
