Telkoi, July 2: A herd of wild elephants have created havoc in Telkoi area of Keonjhar district last night by damaging several houses and crops. According to Padanga villagers, a herd of seven elephants, including two calves, have entered into the human habitation in search of food. Last night they destroyed acres of vegetables and damaged houses in the village. It is a regular affair for the people of several villages in Telkoi area and they are living in fear and panic as forest department has failed to prevent the pachyderms from entering villages. Villagers have lost their cultivated crops and houses. The government is not responding to our woes, said the villagers.
