Low pressure to trigger heavy rainfall in Odisha for next 3 days; SRC asks DMs to remain alert

Bhubaneswar, Sep 17: The Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) has asked Collectors of all districts to remain alert in view of fresh low pressure which is likely to develop over northeast Bay of Bengal and neighbourhood around September 20.

According to the Met department, a fresh low pressure area will form likely September 20 following which several parts of Odisha will experience heavy rainfall around three days.

September 18 to 19 morning

Yellow Warning: Thunderstorm with lightning in Malkangiri, Koraput, Nawarangpur, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj districts.

September 19 to 20 morning

Yellow warning: Thunderstorm with lighting in Nawarangpur, Nuapada, Bolangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Boudh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Nayagarh, Khurda, Ganjam, Puri, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and Balasore districts.

September 20 to 21 morning

Yellow warning: Heavy to very heavy rainfall in Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Mayurbhanj and Balasore districts.
