Bhubaneswar: Health services in Odisha have been hit since this morning as various doctors’ unions have joined the Indian Medical Association’s (IMA) call for a strike for stopping non-essential health services today in protest against the assault on doctors in West Bengal.

The IMA State Branch, the Junior Doctors’ Association (JDA), the Odisha Medical Services (OMSA) and the Resident Doctors’ Association held an emergency meeting here on Sunday and took the decision, said IMA State general secretary Dr Janmejaya Mohapatra.

Doctors of both Government and private hospitals are not attending outdoor patients but are attending emergency cases.

He informed that the Nursing Home Association has also extended support to the IMA strike.
