Bhubaneswar, Nov 21: The Harekrushna Mahatab Jayati Committee today paid rich tribute to former Odisha Chief Minister Utkal Keshari Harekrushna Mahatab oh his birth anniversary.
President of the committee and Governor of Andhra Pradesh, Biswabhusan Harichandan also paid his humble tributes to eminent freedom fighter through video conferencing.
Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan also joined the occasion through video conferencing and highlighted Mahatab’s contribution in freedom fight.
Similarly, Odisha Assembly Speaker Dr Surya Narayan Patro, who was present as the chief guest, stressed on the former chief minister’s contribution in the development of the state.
The event was organised by senior Congress leader and Jatani MLA Sura Routray, where several senior leaders were present and paid tribute to the former Chief Minister.
Meanwhile, a statue of the former Chief Minister was unveiled by Bhadrak MP Manjulata Mandal at Agarpada, the native place of the ex-CM, in Bhadrak district.
Famously known as ‘Utkal Keshari’, former CM of Odisha and Union Minister, Mahatab had played a vital role in the integration of princely states into the Indian union along with Sardar Patel.
