Grave situation in China as Coronavirus death toll shoots up to 80

Bhubaneswar, Jan 27: The death toll from novel Coronavirus has spiked to 80 while nearly 2800 have been infected, China announced on early Monday. When province of Hubei suffered 24 new fatalities, total confirmed cases nationwide rose sharply to 2,744. However, no new death case has been confirmed outside of Hubei. President Xi Jinping has called it a grave situation following the accelerating spread of the virus. Shockingly, As many as 24 deaths were confirmed overnight and the central Chinese Hubei province reported 371 cases. Following the accelerating spread of the virus China announced on Monday that the Lunar New Year Holiday will be extended to February 2 as a measure to contain the deadly virus outbreak.
