Bhubaneswar: The State Government today tabled the judicial commission report along with action taken report (ATR) on the alleged incident of kidnapping, sexual assault and suicide of a minor girl of village Musaguda in Koraput district.

Earlier on Friday, the Orissa High Court while hearing a plea seeking CBI probe into the case suggested that it would constitute a three-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) for a court-monitored fresh probe into the alleged rape-suicide case.

As per the recommendation of the Commission, the State Police headquarters has been requested to issue strict instructions to the investigating agencies to take all necessary steps during investigation to hide the identity of the victim of sexual assault as required under law.

The 14-year-old girl from Kunduli in Koraput district had alleged that she was gang raped by four unknown ‘persons in uniform’ on October 10, 2017. In December 2017, the Pottangi police, citing medical reports, had ruled out rape. She hanged herself to death on January 22, last year to get rid of public shame.
