Govt spent Rs 5.55 crore on chit fund probe commission

Bhubaneswar: At least nine Judicial Commission of Inquiries have been set up since 2010 and maximum Rs 5.55 crore has so far been spent for the Commission of Inquiry, set up in 2013 to probe into unauthorised collection of public deposits.

This was informed by Minister of State (Home) Dibya Shankar Mishra in the Assembly on Monday.

The Minister informed the House that that the commission has so submitted seven interim reports to the Government.

In response to a question from Congress Legislature Party leader CLP leader Narasingh Mishra, the Minister said since 2010, nine Judicial Inquiries have been ordered, out of which reports of four have been received while three of them have been presented in the Assembly.
