Bhubaneswar: The International Yoga Day was observed across Odisha amid thousands of people practicing yoga in the capital city and other parts this mrning.
Governor Prof Ganshi Lal attended a mega yoga shibir held at the Janata Maidan here. “Yoga is very essential to stay healthy in life. It creates tranquillity in mind and friendship in society. It is also a means to attain spirituality,” said the Governor while practicing some Asanas.
Puri Gajapati Dibya Singh too practiced yoga. “Yoga is life and vice versa. It is being practiced in India since time immemorial. It is very essential to keep you health,” said the Puri King.
The Yoga Day was also observed in a big way by the members of the Balasore Laughing Club. Members’ laughter along with yoga created an ambiance of free of worldly attachments, said reports.
The Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan University also observed the day in its campus here. Students and teachers practiced yoga on the occasion.
