Ganjam admin to impose penalty of Rs 1000 on people coming out without masks during lockdown

Berhampur, April 5: The Ganjam District Administration has decided to impose penalty on people coming outside without mask during the lockdown. Officials said that violators will be imposed penalty of Rs 1000 in urban areas while penalty of Rs 500 will be collected in rural areas. “We urge residents to use cotton clothes mask, handkerchiefs or scarf to cover nose and mouth,” said an official. Earlier on Saturday the district administration has asked for universal covering of face for people venturing outside during the lockdown. It has also restricted availability of essential service between 7am and 12 noon. It has also ordered complete shutdown from 12 noon to 7am.
