Funds of Jagannath Temple to be parked in Union Bank of India

Puri, March 20; Puri: Temple fund & corpus fund of Jagannath temple in Puri will be kept in the United Bank of India at an interest rate of 5.75 %, informed the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration. As per reports, the decision to deposit the fund in the nationalized bank was taken after a bidding process in which two other nationlised banks also participated. However, the temple administration is yet to decide the amount of money which will be deposited in the bank. Temple administration officials said that the money will be kept as a long-term deposit of three years. Earlier on Thursday, The crisis-ridden Yes Bank has remitted Rs 397, 23,27,636 (Principal Rs 389 crore and Interest Rs 8,23,27,636) to the designated State Bank of India (SBI) 081 Account No-10913111382 of Jagannath Temple Corpus Fund.
