Four railway employees suspended for derailment of LTT Express in Odisha

Bhubaneswar, Jan 16: As many as four railway employees have been placed under suspension in connection with the derailment of Lokamanya Tilak Express this morning.   As many as 11 persons were injured, five of them critically, as the Lokamanya Tilak Express train derailed at Shalagaon near Nirgundi railway station under Cuttack district. As per an official communication by the East Coast Rilaway (ECoR) on duty station manager of Nergundi railway station, guard of goods train, loco pilot and assistant loco pilot of LTT-Bhubaneswar Express have been suspended for dereliction of duty. {"align":"center","id":24362,"sizeSlug":"large"} “Commissioner, Railway Safety, South Eastern Circle at Kolkata Abhai Kumar Rai, an independent organisation under Ministry of Civil Aviation will hold a statutory inquiry on January 18 at Officer’s Rest House near Cuttack Railway Station,” said a release of the ECoR.
