Four more RRTs to reduce contact tracing time in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar, July 24: Contact tracing time will be minimised now in the city with inclusion of four new teams into the Rapid Response Team (RRT) under the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation. It can be mentioned here that prior to this there were 10 RRTs already working within the BMC corporation area for the COVID-19 tracing in order to fight the epidemic and help more and more people recover from the tentacles of the Corona attack. These 14 dedicated teams are specifically working towards contact tracing and patient shifting work across various hospitals, COVID care centres and home isolation cases. Out of these 14 teams six teams are at zonal level while the rest are at the Central COVID Control Room at BMC. It can be stated that the RRTs constitute health-care experts from Community Medicine and AYUSH. A detailed review meeting in this regard and on a holistic and effective COVID-19 management across the State Capital was held under the chairmanship of COVID Observer and Principal Secretary Women and Child Development Department Anu Garg today at the BMC Conference Hall. Labour Commissioner Thirumala Nayak and BMC Commissioner Prem Chandra Chaudhary were present. Meanwhile the testing for COVID-19 pandemic has gone up in the city and today more than 1,400 tests were conducted. With the testing numbers going up there would also be a rise in the positive cases from the population of the State Capital, which also cropped up during the discussion during the review meeting. In a positive development 46 persons have recovered from home Isolation across the city as there were 163 of them under the observation. However, BMC sources added that even after their recovery the 46 persons are under constant watch by experts regarding their health conditions. Those staying under Home Isolation are also under observation by RRT teams.
