Berhampur: The Berhampur Cyber police today busted a cyber crime fraud racket and arrested at least four women for cheating a youth of lakhs.
The arrest was made after one Dipak Panda of Berhampur Sadar area lodged a complaint with the Cyber police alleging that he was duped of Rs 69,000 by South India Finance Company.
According to sources, Dipak came to know about the finance company from one of his friends when he was in search of money to buy a tractor.
When he contacted the company, the female officials of the financial firm started talking to him over the phone and asked him to deposit some money along with certain documents verification to avail loan.
While Dipak deposited Rs 1.2 lakh but the company officials managed to produce proof of receiving only Rs 69,000 from the former.
Later, Dipak lodged a complaint. During investigation, the four girls of the company were found involved in the case and arrested.
