Four doctors suspended for dereliction of duty during cyclone

Bhubaneswar: Due to dereliction of duty during Cyclone Fani which hit Odisha on May 3, Health and Family Welfare Department suspended four doctors of different hospitals in Puri.

The doctors named Jakesh Samantaray and Jahana Parween of Community Health Center (CHC) at Nuapada, Chilika and Bapuji Nayak, and Jasmine Nilima Panda of CHC at Rebana, Nuagaon were reportedly absent in their place of posting in the aftermath of the cyclone.

Meanwhile, Dr. Amarendra Nath Mohanty has been named the Chief District Medical Officer of Puri district today.

He will succeed Dr. Narahari Moharana for this post. Mohanty has earlier held posts of DMO and DPHO in Malkangiri district and ADMO in Puri.
