Foreign currency, gold worth lakhs burgled from banker's house in Bhubaneswar apartment

Bhubaneswar, Feb 22: Miscreants allegedly burgled the house of a banker in an apartment in Raghunathpur under Nandankanan police limits. The incident came to light after the banker identified as Pushkar Thakur reached his house located in the third floor of the apartment this morning. The family members found three locks of the house being broken. Though the exact amount of money and gold ornaments burgled is yet to be ascertained, Thakur said that miscreants decamped with cash around Rs 2lakh, gold ornaments weighing around 100 grams and some foreign currency. “The sister of the banker stays in Australia. The family had been to their native for past one week. The CCTV of the apartment is also lying defunct. The security guard of the apartment pleaded ignorance about the burglary. Further investigation in the case is continuing,” said a police official.
