For the first time,Utkal University figures among top 100 universities in India

Bhubaneswar, June 11: Utkal University figured among the top 100 universities in the  rankings in the different categories by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF)  for 2020. The rankings were announced by the Union minister for Human Resource Development Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ on Thursday. Utkal University secured 96th position in the ranking. Sources said that the oldest university of the state figured in the list of best universities in the country for the first time. Known for its top quality research in science and humanities, it has produced many scholars, administrators, scientists and economists of national and international repute. Recently the university celebrated it's platinum jubilee with commitment to upkeep it's high tradition in education and research .The Odisha government has focused on infrastructure development of the university keeping in view the requirements of the time, so that  it can strive to scale new heights of success. The news has brought cheers to all the students and alumni of the university. The ranking framework evaluates institutions on five broad generic groups of parameters, i.e. Teaching, Learning and Resources (TLR), Research and Professional Practice (RP), Graduation Outcomes (GO), Outreach and Inclusivity (OI) and Perception (PR). Ranks are assigned based on total sum of marks assigned for each of these five broad groups of parameters.
