Floodwater enters Bhattarika Temple; Goddess idol shifted

Bhubaneswar: Conduct of rituals in the Bhattarika Temple at Athagarh has been severely disrupted as floodwater has entered and stagnated at over four feet in the temple.

According to reports, the idol of the presiding deity Maa Bhataria has been taken to the top of a hill nearby and rituals are being conducted there.

About half of the temple has been submerged in the floodwater, forcing temple authorities to shift the idol of the Goddess, said reports.
