Bhubaneswar: After a long wait, regular flight services will resume from the Veer Surendra Sai Airport, Jharsuguda today. The Spice Jet will start flying flights to Delhi, Hyderabad and Kolkata during afternoon hours.
According to information, a 189-seater plane would take off from the airport at 3.40 pm and fly to New Delhi. Similarly, a flight would take off at 4.10 pm for Hyderabad and another flight would take off at 8.40 pm for Kolkata.
Earlier on February 10m an eight-member team of the SpiceJet had conducted an inspection of the security and infrastructure facilities at the airport.
Notably, flight operations at the Jharsuguda airport were stopped around 15 days after its inauguration by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 22 last year as the Air Odisha airline suspended its services. The Air Odisha had bagged the permission to operate flights from Jharsuguda to Bhubaneswar, Ranchi and Raipur under the UDAN scheme.
