First Covid-19 infected doctor of Bhubaneswar AIIMS discharged

Bhubaneswar, June 12: The first doctor of AIIMS, Bhubaneswar tested positive for Covid-19 was discharged from AIIMS on Friday. “She was tested and found negative. We appreciate the high degree of professionalism, empathy and personal involvement of all residents, faculty, nurses and healthcare workers,” tweeted AIIMS director, Gitanjali Batmanabane. Earlier on June 4, four doctors of the hospital were also tested positive for coronavirus. The doctors included three senior residents (one each from surgery, pathology and pharmacology), and a junior resident from dermatology department. The four doctors had been in home quarantine since June 3 after the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation declared their apartment complex as a containment zone following detection of a Covid-19 positive case.
