Bhubaneswar: Finally, forest officials succeeded in catching the tiger, which had been moving in the Palaspalli area in the city and kept denizens in a state of fear since Monday, last night.
The tiger came to eat a skinned broiler kept in a cage near the Airport Cargo Gate and was trapped on Tuesday late night, reports said quoting forest officials.
As many as five cages had been kept at different places in the jungle adjacent to the city airport to trap the tiger, which had been seen first on Monday morning in the Palaspalli area by some people. But after CCTV footage showed the big cat’s movement, forest officials started initiatives to locate and trap the tiger. A CISF guard, deployed at the airport, saw the tiger in the nearby jungle.
After nabbing the tiger, forest officials have left the big cant in the Nandankanan zoo, said reports.
