Sundargarh: A day after carcass of a female elephant found buried in Sonakhan Putulia village under Rajgangpur Forest Range in Sundargarh district, the Forests Department today suspended two of its staff.
Rourkela DFO Murtunjay Swain said that Forester Harish Chandra Jena and Forest Guard Sabita Kisan were placed under suspension. They were suspended allegedly for negligence.
Notably, miscreants burnt a female elephant and later buried it near Sunakhandi Luhakhan forest under Rajgangpur Forest range. On being informed, the local Forests officials rushed to the spot and recovered the body for post-mortem. At least three persons were detained for the crime for interrogation.
