Female doctor who treated covid-19 patients succumbs to virus in Odisha

Rourkela, Oct 18:  A 29-year-old female doctor, who had treated many coronavirus patients, succumbed to the virus in Odisha’s Rourkela city today.

The corona warrior has been identified as Dr Priyashree, a second-year PG student of Rourkela Ispat General Hospital (IGH).

 She was given guard of honour before her last rites were performed.

“Guard of Honour given to COVID Warrior Dr. Priyashree who breathed her last. Hon’ble MLA Rourkela, ADM Rourkela and other officials joined in to pay respects to the departed soul at Vedvyas Ghat. We stand with the bereaved family in their time of need,” said the Sundargarh Collector.

Later, her last rites were performed where her younger brother Abhimav Ranjan was present.

Dr. Priyashree was treating Covid-19 patients at the hospital. Later, she fell ill and tested positive for the virus on September 22. She breathed her last while undergoing treatment on October 16.
