FAQ on opening of shops during lockdown by BMC

Bhubaneswar, April 29: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) today issued a FAQ on opening of shops in the state capital during lockdown as per the revised notification. 1)The order is effective from which date? The order is effective from the date of its issue, i.e from 28th April 2020. 2. Can the Gst registration paper be used for pass purpose? A copy of the valid trade license issued by BMC and certified by the owner of the shop/commercial establishment can be used as a pass for movement. 3. Can Mobile retail shops selling mobiles are allowed to opened?  A mobile retail shop selling mobile if it is a stand alone/neighborhood shop is allowed to open but if located in any market complex or mall is not allowed . 4. Can plywood, paint, hardware shops are allowed to open?  Yes, provided the shop is a stand alone shop & is not located in a market complex/mall. 5. Two & Four wheeler showrooms are allowed to open or not ?  If the shop is a stand alone shop & is not located in a market complex/mall it can be opened. Generally, four wheeler show rooms comes under the single brand and hence not permitted. 6. Garments shop are allowed to open? Yes, provided the shop is a stand alone shop & is not located in a market complex/mall. 7. Can the private construction work be carried out?  Construction of works in construction sites where workers are available on site and no workers are required to be brought from outside(in-situ construction). Bringing workers from outside the work-site is strictly prohibited. 8. Can the printing shops doing flex, digital printing is allowed? Yes, provided the shop is a stand alone shop & is not located in a market complex/mall. 9. Can Marble, Titles, Granite, etc. shops are allowed to open?  Yes, provided the shop is a stand alone shop & is not located in a market complex/mall. 10. Can General Insurance companies be allowed to open? Yes, But with 25% staff strength. 11. Can Jewelry shops, gold & silver, etc. be opened?  Yes, provided the shop is a stand alone shop & is not located in a market complex/mall. 12. Sir can I open now my glass shop(window glass/door glass )?  Yes, provided the shop is a stand alone shop & is not located in a market complex/mall. 13. Can sweets shops, which are mostly take away things be opened?  Yes, But only as a take away outlet. 14. Can maids, cooks drivers are allowed to individuals houses? Yes, but with proper hygiene and sanitation condition, social distancing. They should be insisted to use mask /gloves, etc. Their health conditions should be watched daily & in case of flu like symptoms they may be advised to stay at home & consult doctors. 15. Can Sanitary Shop be opened? Yes, provided the shop is a stand alone shop & is not located in a market complex/mall. 16. Can maintenance of Lifts & escalators are allowed to open?  As more than 90% are field staff, who generally works at different sites in 1 or 2 pairs. Yes subject to maintaining Social Distancing norms & Sanitization practices. 17. Can Computer, Laptop Showroom be opened?  Yes, provided the shop is a stand alone shop & is not located in a market complex/mall 18. No mention of liquor shops? Any clarification regarding the same?  As per Govt instructions sale of liquor has been completely prohibited.
