Bhubaneswar: The tropical cyclone ‘Fani’ is 450 kilometre away from Puri and 230 km from Vishakhapatnam in the Bay of Bengal and is moving at a speed of 15 kilometre per hour now. It will make a landfall near Krushnaprasad in Puri district on May 3 afternoon, according to the latest reports of the IMD.
At the time of landfall, the cyclone is expected to blow at a speed between 170 to 180 km per hour. The speed of wind blow would cross 200 kmph at some places too, predicted the India Meteorological Department.
The IMD predicted heavy rains in coastal as well as in all other parts of the state from May 2 to 4.
