Family members ousted from rented house after BSF jawan tests Covid-19 positive

Jagatsinghpur, June 30: Family members of a Delhi returned BSF jawan were ousted from rented house in Jagatsinghpur district by the house owner after the jawan tested positive for Covid-19, police said on Tuesday. According to reports, a BSF jawan had recently returned from Delhi to his rented house at Purohitpur. He travelled by car from Bhubaneswar and spent a night with his family. The next day, he went to the Temporary Medical Camp (TMC) at Punanga College and gave his swab sample for Covid-19 test and stayed at the institutional quarantine centre at SVM College. His report came on Sunday that resulted positive. The house owner ousted his wife and two children after being informed about the jawan’s Covid-19 positive report. Later, they were accommodated at Mahavir guest house in the town. The municipal officials have sealed the guest house. Legal action will be taken against both the house owner and the guest house owner for violating Covid-19 guidelines, said an official of Jagatsinghpur Municipality.
