New Delhi, Jan 8: The external affairs ministry has issued an advisory asking the Indians not to go to Iraq. This advisory came in the wake of the missile attack by Iran on the American base. Earlier, USA, Malaysia, Singapore and China had issued similar advisory. USA has imposed restriction on the operation of its registered flights to Iraq, Iran and nearby territory. The civil aviation ministry of India has cautioned the airlines not to go near Iran-Iraq territory and nearby areas. In this context, the Indian airlines companies may change their flight routes to avoid touching Iranian airports in view of the strained US-Iran relations. This will adversely impact the fare structure. Earlier in June last year, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation had advised not to go through Iran.
