New Delhi, Jan 31: A Delhi Court today stayed the execution of Nirbhaya convicts till further orders. Earlier death death warrants have been issued for February 1 against the four convicts in the 16 December gang rape and murder case. It may be recalled that Mukesh Singh, Pawan Gupta, Vinay Sharma and Akshay Singh were convicted by the Patiala House Court for raping and killing a paramedical student of Delhi in a running bus in 2012 December. However, a minor convict was released from jail after serving sentence for three years. The execution of the four convicts has been deferred for the second time. Prior to today’s development, the execution was initially scheduled to take place on 22 January.
